Macy Gray, M.Ed.

Macy Gray is a dedicated mental health professional who completed her Master’s in Professional Counseling at the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her B.S. in Psychology with Magna Cum Laude honors from James Madison University, where she was a member of the Honors College. Macy brings experience from diverse clinical settings, including university counseling centers and community behavioral health. Her clinical work has involved supporting college students through academic and personal challenges, as well as providing services to older adults navigating serious mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression. Macy approaches her work through an integrative lens, tailoring interventions to the unique experiences, cultural contexts, and goals of each individual she works with.

She is particularly interested in the intersection of identity development, relational dynamics, life transitions, and mood disorders. Macy emphasizes the centrality of the therapeutic relationship and views therapy as a collaborative process grounded in empathy, curiosity, and growth. She is committed to lifelong learning and sees each therapeutic encounter as an opportunity to evolve both personally and professionally. In addition to her clinical work, Macy has contributed to research on mentoring and belonging in higher education settings and has presented her honors thesis on mental health services and marginalized student populations.
